Containers that work for you

No matter what size shipping container you need, Boxman has you covered. We’ve got three main container sizes: 10ft, 20ft and 40ft. Between them, they cover just about every job you can think of, from moving house to storing stock or keeping tools safe on site.

Our containers are built tough for New Zealand conditions, with options available for hire or to buy. Every unit is wind- and watertight, lockable, and ready to use from the get-go.

Most customers are surprised by how much storage each size actually offers, and many underestimate the space or access they need on-site. In Wellington, for example, 10ft containers are especially popular because they’re easier to position which would have something to do with access and space in the city.

All sizes come in both standard-height and high cube options, which can make a big difference if you need extra vertical space. We also notice that people often assume 10ft units are cheaper because they’re smaller, but they’re a specialist size and not as common, so the pricing doesn’t always follow that logic.

Whether you need storage for a few months or something more permanent, we can help you choose the right size to keep your gear safe. Check out the sizes below to see what might work, and if you’re not sure, just give us a call.

10ft Shipping Containers

Compact and practical, 10ft containers are perfect when you don’t have much space to work with. They’re small enough to fit on a driveway or tight worksite, but still give you around 16m³ of storage. This size container can be great for overflow stock, tools, or personal equipment.

20ft Shipping Containers

The 20ft container is the versatile all-rounder. It’s the size most people go for because it offers plenty of room without being too hard to move or position. With more than 33 cubic metres inside, businesses often use them for everyday storage, while families rely on them for moving house or keeping furniture safe during renovations.

40ft Shipping Containers

When storage is the main priority, a 40ft container is hard to beat. At over 12m long, it gives you close to 68 cubic metres of space, or even more if you go for a high cube option. That makes it the go-to for bulk freight, large equipment, or anything that simply won’t fit in a smaller container.
